Installing Your Window Roller Shades

If you want to decorate your room with a tight budget then maybe roller shades are the choice for you. Roller shades will make your house an appealing place for you to live as they will make the room appear to be more graceful and adjust the amount of light in the room.

The market place offers a variety of roller shades for you to choose from. Every type or style will fit one purpose or another. There are types of window shades used to highlight the room. And there are also some types of shades used to adjust lighting in the house. When deciding to buy, you should ask the shop owners to explain to you which type will fit your demand.

But first you need to decide where you are going to install the window shades. There are two options for you: outside or inside the windows. If your choice is to mount them inside, then you need to take note the length and width of the windows to know the size of the shades. If your choice is the outside, there are another two options available: to hang the window shades on top of the windows or hang them beyond the windows.

Now after you have purchased the shades, you will come to the next step that is to mount them onto your windows. First you need to install the window brackets that often come with the window shades. You will choose the place to install those brackets according to where the new shades will be installed.

If you want to mount the shade from inside, make sure all the brackets are matching each other from the two sides. The installed shade must be able to move effortlessly between the brackets. The shades also shouldn't touch the top of the window for ease of movement.

The technique is the same for the outside. But there is a point to remember: You should leave at least 1/8' of space between the brackets for the shade to operate smoothly.

It should be noted that there is another position where you can mount your window shades. People usually refer to it as "ceiling mount". The same procedure is applied for this position but remember that the brackets should not touch the ceiling. You also need to provide extra space from the whole mechanism to operate freely.

The final step is to check the system to see if everything is in place. If you are using a spring roller shade, you can check the tightness of the spring by lowering the shade for 15' and then roll back up. But there's a remark here: don't overdo it unless you want your roller to be damaged.

Your beautiful house will become even more elegant if you choose roller shades as a decorating method to light up the house. But moreover, roller shades also have the effect of controlling light in the room. And they are also very easy to tidy up. Some of them even have the capacity to resist mold and mildew.
