Tips On Choosing a New Bathroom Vanity
One of the most effective remodeling projects to undertake in the home is in the bathroom. It is a project that all family members will appreciate. Some years ago, the choice of bathroom vanities in stores was very limited. Today, however, there is an abundance of choice in vanity units, so much so that making a decision can be quite difficult. Before going out and buying a new bathroom vanity it is worth considering a few points first.
The cabinet style of vanity unit is the most common style you will find as they provide a lot of useful storage space. They vary in height and often range from thirty three to thirty five niches high. If you need a different height, they can be made to order. Due to their popularity they are often a lot cheaper then the more modern contemporary designs although not always. If you need storage space in the bathroom then this is a useful style to go for.
The next type to look at are the furniture style vanity units. Compared to the other styles they are smaller making them go especially well in smaller bathrooms. They look like a pieces of furniture which is freestanding, making them perfect for the small bathroom. They offer a quick and easy method of updating the bathroom without having to make any major changes to the room. They come in a number of styles from those with more storage to others with a more contemporary look.
The vessel vanity bathroom vanity is the next to consider. These consist of a freestanding, modern looking vanity unit with a bowl shaped sink sitting on top of it. The sinks are often many different materials from granite to glass. They are great for the smaller bathroom and will free up some space. These varieties will create a great contemporary look in the bathroom.
Think about the size of your bathroom when trying to decide which one to buy. If your bathroom is small and you want to increase the space then go for a freestanding unit. Also the style of your bathroom is important. Furniture style units go well in traditional style bathrooms compared to the vessel units which are more suited to the modern look. Cost is an important factor, with the vessel setup being more expensive.
Do bear in mind, when considering the cost, that updated vanities will not only improve the look of your home but also increase it's equity value. This could offset the cost of the vanity. Searching the internet for different style ideas and prices is the best way to start.
