An Island Get-Away For Your Little Boy's Bedroom

A fisherman's abode for your little one will surely be a hit. Below are the steps for creating this "home in the islands" look:

First, create an aura of a beach life. Paint the walls with beach colors. The bottom of the walls in tan or beige for a sand impression and over it in blue-green for the ocean. Sponge in white paint to create waves. If you're an artist, make the walls a work of art by painting a beach scene on one area of the wall.

Decorate with fish toys or fish cutouts as wall hangings. These toys can be mounted using hooks. For a complete look, include other sea creatures to the picture like crabs, sea urchins, corals, etc. See how the bedroom transforms in an instant.

A fisherman design decor won't be complete without a boat, right? This boat will be your little boy's bed. Select a boat with a flat bottom so that you don't have to make a frame to keep it upright. If not, then you would have to make a separate frame for the boat to sit upright against the wall. Anchor it for extra security. A junk yard is a good place to buy or look for a boat. If you know a carpenter, you can commission him to custom made one for you. Six feet in size is fine. This can already fit in a twin bed while still leaving space for storage. Take the seats out, replace with a sheet of plywood, cover with mattress and finish off with a beach or underwater themed beddings. If no such prints are available, beddings in blue or green will also look nice.

Finally, an area rug to cap off the decorating project is a must. It should of course, go well with the rest of the room in color or design. A large area rug is better to cushion as much space as possible. Even if you already have carpeting, an area rug will still be an essential addition for a put-together design.

Interior Design has never been this easy with these rugs. Be sure to take a look at this boys room area rugs for the latest information.
