Outdoor Party Ideas
Having a party or celebration in an outdoor venue retains a certain magic. Perhaps it's the clear view of the sky that you get when you are outside enjoying a good meal with the people that matters the most to you. Below are some ideas that could make that party even more special.
Garden Party
If you can manage to landscape your garden and put in more flowers and plants, this will be a nice theme for the party. Make it clear even in the invitation by using dried petals and dried leaves. Tables have to be highly decorated with flowers, your plates, cups and everything else will also have to be decorated with flowers. You can put the name of the guests on the pot of the plants.
I would also suggest that you illuminate step paths to add a bit more jest in the already romantic setting. Of course, this is something you can't do if there are kids around so reserve this for the grown ups only party.
Patriotic Theme
Send out invitations with a creative interpretation of your country's flag. Use the theme red, blue and white in it (or whatever the color of your flag is). You cannot use the flag as table cloth as you may get sued for that but you can use the colors. You can make special placemats with different interesting historical facts about your country. You can ask your servers to dress up as historical figures.
Interactive Work of Art
This is something kids and adults can do. Why do you set up a big white canvass and some spray paint, paint brush, paint trays with different colors of paints of course, pens so that anyone who comes in the party can dip their hands in the paint tray and make their hand mark on the canvass. Then ask them to sign below their hand print. You can even prepare several canvasses if you like.
Photo Booth
One nice thing you can do is a set up a place in one part of the party venue for a photo booth. Just set up a nice DSLR on a tripod and remote control of the camera and people can click away as they wish. You may even assign one person to man this area.
