A popular flower to grow in the garden is a rose bush. The main consideration to take into account when growing roses is to place them in a location that will get a good deal of sun, at least 5-6 hours of sun per day. The next important consideration for rose plants is they need good drainage. If water doesn't drain from the root zone in a sufficient amount of time, the roots will start to rot, and the fine hairs on these roots that are responsible for up taking water and nutrients will disintegrate. Then no matter how much you water the plant, it will not get any of it or the nutrients in the soil moisture because the hair roots have died.
Feeding your rose with a good rose fertilizer in the growing season is paramount to it forming lots of flowers and maintaining its health. Whether you like to have a prolific number of roses left on the bush or like to pick them to enjoy indoors, to get plenty of flowers they need to be fed every 6 weeks during the growing season. Ask at your local plant nursery for a good rose fertilizer as there are plenty on the market to pick from.
Growing roses isn't nearly as difficult as some folk are led to believe. They are a pleasing plant to grow in the garden and only require some basic care.
