All About Closet Door Framing

If you want to do your own closet door framing, then you will need to have the know how to tackle this kind of carpentry work, unless you are someone who already has a bit of an idea on what is necessary to complete this job.

Find the best place in the building or home you will be putting it into before you decide to make a start. You will need to make sure it is not going to cause any unnecessary problems in the future.

With that all taken care of, you will now need to take some measurements of the doorway into this closet. You will need to measure the sides of the doorway area, the area above your head where the top of the door is, and the bottom of the doorway.

Once you have taken the measurements it will be time to organise the timber for the project. The best size for this job will be the two by four inch timber, or otherwise known as 2 by 4, and it will need to be as long as the measurements you have taken.

To be able to work on this project you will need to get some tools which you may already have. These can include a tape measure, a pencil, nails, square, level, hammer, and a wood cutting saw.

There are two ways to go about making this frame and that is by making it to fit straight into the space for the doorway, or making it on the floor and allowing a slight gap of about a quarter of an inch so it will fit easily into the opening. When the frame has been fitted and secured in place then the rest of opening can be completed. If you are unsure of the best way to be able to complete this work then there are instruction which can be found on the internet.
