Cool Ideas For Decorating Your Son's Room
Expecting a little bundle of you is the most wonderful time in a couple's life. Finding out what the sex is going to be is the greatest. When you find out it's a little boy many room themes come into mind. You either can choose bears, trains, cars, or of course sports. Try to be creative when designing your child's nursery.
Choosing a theme which will fit your little one is the inspiration you'll need to pick the focal point in the room. Try choosing something which will last quite a few years before it's time to switch it up a bit.
Kids love animals or anything found in nature, whether they may be insects or reptiles. Using a nature theme for the bedroom could encourage your child to get outside in order to experience and explore the real outdoors.
Boys would also absolutely love a room that centers on his favorite pet. This could be birds, cats, dogs, or snakes. Designing a room based on your child's favorite animals will make him feel more at home. Ensure that his room is also filled with pictures of himself with his favorite pet, as well as stuffed toys of the same animal.
You can even opt for a safari look by looking for colorful and interesting animal wallpaper, fabrics, and borders, which are readily available at most home improvement stores. Cover the walls with a shade of tan, ivory or blue and produce valances and pillows that match well with leopard-print fabrics. Stuffed toys of tigers and lions can be stowed in a corner, while binoculars, straw hats, and butterfly nets can hang from the walls. A colorful frame or mat board would also look great, and it could be used to display your child's art work
If your son is interested in the outdoors, especially the mountain area, base the theme off of this. Use a great wall border and choose fantastic fabrics and accessories which include fish, deer, bear, and birds. Flannel and plaid are two fabrics you can't go wrong with in a mountain man theme room. Green items and also wooden like pieces will make this theme come together.
If your son loves cars, decorate his room with a finish line and checkered black and white flags. Rugs with car track designs are also great, as is a car bed and walls with car wall decals. In frames, put up race car photos and in shelves, put up a display of various model cars.
Astronomy may not seem like a great theme to choose for a little boy's room but it will give your little boy a great science theme to work with. Try placing sticky glow in the dark stars around the room. Paint the ceiling dark blue and even trace a moon in the sun and paint it with glow in the dark paint. This will allow the moon to hide during the day but shine at night.
If the father of the son is a soldier or a marine, and he looks up to him, try a patriotic room. You don't just need red, white, and blue for the theme, try using camouflage or desert themes. Tans, reds, orange, and greens are great options to consider. No matter the theme you choose for your son you'll figure out a way to incorporate the theme he enjoys the most. Colors and a few focal points are the best way to go. You don't want to overcrowd a room with decor, especially for a younger child. Soft textures and wall colors will tie any theme together. Try to make the floor clear of clutter since boys will be boys. Place a great area rug on the floor if it's a wooden area so your little man won't get hurt if he falls or is playing too rough on the ground. Rugs will always make a design complete.
