Tween Girl Decor

As you know that once newborn baby girl isn't going to be a little girl forever. She'll want to switch her room around when she feels she's just too old for the Barbie theme. So what to do?

If your little girl is set on changing her bedroom into her own personal space but doesn't quite know how to do so, help her with these few steps.

Choosing a few colors to design the room around may be the easiest way to go. Paint the walls one color, choose another for the window treatment, another for the bedding and you're done! You can flip flop whenever necessary and still have an awesome design to grow into no matter your age.

If your daughter is an animal lover why not go with a few different animal prints? You can choose a wonderful leopard bed set with a great zebra area rug in the middle of the room. Add a few different animal printed picture frames and you are complete. They'll be able to place pictures of their friends and family in the frames to create their own ideas.

Go for the Gold: If your girl is an Olympian in the making, then reinforce her love of sports with a bedroom decor that reflects her skill. Whether she's an avid participant in whether it's riding, skating, softball, swimming, or soccer, there are ways to incorporate her interests into a room style. — can readily identify with this decorating theme. Start by selecting a wallpaper border in her favorite sport and taking the room's color scheme from that. Look for unusual ways to express her theme, such as using bats for curtain rods if she's into softball. Include plenty of shelves for photos, awards, trophies and medals.

World of Whimsy: While perhaps not as wide-eyed as when she was a tot, a young girl still can have a heart for whimsy. Perhaps she'd like a tea party theme, with plenty of gauzy hats to adorn her pastel walls. Maybe she's really a fairy tale princess whose castle is a mural. Or perhaps she'd like to retreat to her secret garden, hidden behind stenciled flowers and ivy vines. Finish off any of these options with a filmy bed canopy and she'll be delighted.

If you have a daughter who is more into the teen dream you might want to find a way to include this into their rooms design. Try going with a shabby chic look or even a French theme. It is quite simple to create the French theme with black and white checkered fabrics and other French themed artistic designs on the walls. If you want the shabby chic look try finding furniture which looks aged with a bit of wear showing through. Use vintage accessories and a bit of floral to tie the theme together.
