Good Value – Hand Lawn Edger Critique

The electric start is far more reliable than a gas engine. While the Edge Hog can't trim next to trees or the house, of course, it clears a straight line next to walks with ease and can trench a line around garden beds.

I think that people who buy this product will find that it is good value for the money. I got tired of buying gas edgers and having them break down. It wasn't very loud either. I will have to purchase a longer extension cord since I had to use two of them to reach all the areas we needed to edge.

Twenty years later I was a homeowner, edging my own lawn with a manual (push and grunt) edger that worked as well as the spade and bayonet, but with less time and effort from me. Ten years after that, I graduated to a string trimmer, and was able to groom my lawn with much less effort, although much more dirt and noise.

It has an extremely powerful motor and it guides perfectly. The blade is great and it gets the job done quickly easily and safely.

It's a substantial blade, and in my view well worth the $7 cost. I have neighbors with 2 in 1 trimmers (the kind with nylon rope) that can be oriented 90 degrees to act like an edger.

I found it to require a very short learning curve and worked very nicely on our lawn (read the manual). The lawn has lots of concrete to edge around the driveway, front patio and the back patio and pool with lots of curvature and corners. Got ours a few days ago, and went to work. We have Zoisa in our front yard. It worked beautifully and felt great. I got some goggles out, and whenever I hit a rock, I used a small garden shovel at that very moment to dig the rocks out from the immediate area in front of me and kept moving. The original blade has hardly any wear on it. The accuracy of the "cut" is remarkable.

It worked better than expected and I am very happy. For the money it's a great buy despite getting some strange looks from my women friends, I requested this for my birthday.

I will be going back to the gas powered Weed Eater like I had before. Not sure why I ever left it – oh yeah, doing my part in being green. Call Black and Decker for warranty and was told I have to take it to service center. The closest center is close to 90 miles away. You won't get a fine cut. It doesn't have enough power too, going for return to HD.

I was looking at the electric edgers since I didn't think I'd be using it that much and frankly using an extension cord is not that big of a deal to me. tinted windows for cars.
